About:

SOUL-FI is one of the FI-WARE accelerators which aims to grow innovative web-based solutions and services applying FI-WARE technology,  financed by the European Commission (EC). SOUL-FI provides funding to startups and SMEs (over €5 million in grants) and targeted support services to talented entrepreneurs to help bring new products (apps and services) to market.

 

The aim of the SOUL-FI project is to support Micro, Small and Medium-size Enterprises proposing promising ideas for improving urban life via innovative Future Internet (FI-WARE) solutions. The project is asking entrepreneurs to develop apps/services for  #SmartCities #Transport #Social&Learning #Energry &Environment.

The Benefits: 

What do successful SMEs, Start-ups and Applicants get? SOUL-FI offers successful applicants the following: 

Round A - Offer:

  • A lump sum of €10,000 to prove the concept
  • Access to a pro-active, networked environment to get connected with investors, potential customers and other relevant stakeholders
  • A wide range of support services to speed up the development stage process (tutoring, matchmaking and networking events)
  • An opportunity to access a second level of funding to receive additional resources (up to €75,000 [co-funding rate 75%)] and mentoring support) to translate the innovative idea into a pilot product.
Round B - Offer:
  • Co-funding of 75% of project budget, with a maximum of a €75.000 for incentive (example [1]: €50.000 budget x 75% = €37.500 of incentive; example [2]: €120.000 budget = €75.000 of incentive [max]).
  • Benefiting from a wide range of free support services to speed up the development process (tutoring, mentoring, matchmaking and networking – also with ther national and European accelerationprogrammes)
  • Accessing a pro-active, networked environment to get connected with investors, potential customers and elevant stakeholders
  • Negotiating eventual large-scale testing of the product through in situ pilots in different EU cities (Florence, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Valladolid and Birmingham) and ccess to specific typology of open data
  • Identifying additional funding (investment readiness path, crowd-funding, fundraising support)
