Route 3 - Dublin Road.
This route consists of a segregated, two way, cycle lane and improved walking facilities and associated works along the Plassey Park Road, the Dublin Road (R445) and the old Dublin Road (Groody Hill). The works begin at the gates to the University of Limerick (Plassey) and terminate at the Parkway Shopping Centre (Claughaun). The works include upgraded junctions at the ALDI Supermarket (Groody Hill) and the Groody Roundabout on the Dublin Road (R445). To date, every effort has been taken to minimise distruption, keep the development moving on schedule and in the safest possible manner, always working to address the needs of local businesses and residents in the area. This type of work, once completed, will help to make this busy residential and commercial area, as safe as possible, for all road users, while offering the community safer cycling and walking paths for their daily travel.
This phase of the work was completed in September 2014.
